Founded in 2020, RNA ALGATEC began as a research initiative by marine biologists and bioprocess engineers, aiming to harness algae for sustainability, nutrition, and healthcare. Today, it has grown into a full-scale enterprise with advanced facilities and global partnerships.
Early Beginnings
- A small laboratory in Chennai focused on isolating robust algal strains from local coastal ecosystems.
- Initial proof-of-concept projects demonstrated algae’s unparalleled carbon-capture efficiency and high protein yields.
- Seed funding from an angel investor allowed expansion into a dedicated R&D space.
Milestones
2021
Completed our first 5,000L open-pond pilot producing Spirulina and Chlorella for local feed trials.
2022
Commissioned a 20,000L photobioreactor to grow high-value strains for nutraceuticals.
2023
Launched Astaxanthin and Omega-3 production with GMP and ISO 22000 certifications.
2024
Partnered with leading feed producers to add algal protein to aquaculture and poultry diets.
